3-Dimensional Cone-Beam Computerized Tomographic Cephalometric Database on Jaw Dimensions in Chinese
نویسندگان
چکیده
Aim: To create the World’s first database on 3-dimensional cephalometrics on jaw sizes in Chinese based on cone-beam computerized tomography (CBCT). Materials and Methods: 40 consecutive CBCT (20 males and 20 females) of a Chinese population of age ranged 21 to 30 were studied and evaluated cephalometric measurements on jaw dimensions. Results: Six cephalometric measurements Cdl-A, Cdr-A, Cdl-Pg, Cdr-Pg, Cdl-Cdr and A-Pg were measured. All except A-Pg were significantly larger in males. Conclusion: The availability of a database in a population allows research and clinical use of cephalometrics and comparisons of various craniofacial dimensions among different populations to the 3-dimensional level.

Gorham’s disease is a rare and atypical disorder epitomized by progressive osteolysis of bone with eventual total disappearance of bone. The etiology is poorly understood with variable clinical presentation. Most times it is initially misdiagnosed as temporomandibular joint dysfunction, periodontal disease or odontogenic tumors clinically and radiographical...

Introduction: This study aims at examining the difference of pharyngeal airways in patients with different occlusion postures, hoping to improve diagnostic methods and provide a stable treatment plan for orthodontic patients. Materials and Methods: The data were ga-thered through CBCT radiographies of patients from a specialized center for radiology. In each occlusion group according to the p...

OBJECTIVE To evaluate reliability in 3-dimensional (3D) landmark identification using cone-beam computerized tomography (CBCT). STUDY DESIGN Twelve presurgery CBCTs were randomly selected from 159 orthognathic surgery patients. Three observers independently repeated 3 times the identification of 30 landmarks in the sagittal, coronal, and axial slices. A mixed-effects analysis of variance mode...

OBJECTIVE To test the accuracy of a mathematical model (algorithm) that corrects measurements made on conventional lateral head films to corresponding dimensions observed in a cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scan in human subjects. MATERIALS AND METHODS Thirteen subjects had lateral cephalograms taken with a conventional cephalometric machine as well as a CBCT scan. Measurements of midfa...
متن کاملThe Accuracy of Cone-beam Computerized Tomography Linear Measurements in Human Dry Mandible
Background & Aims: The aim of this study was to evaluate the accuracy of Cone-beam Computerized Tomography (CBCT) linear measurements in dry mandibles by comparing them with direct measurements. Methods: Two human dry mandibles were used in this study. Thirteen sites were selected on each mandible. Specimens were scanned by CBCT and linear measurements were made using Planmeca Romexis 2.3.0.R s...
